What to Check Before Buying an Unstitched Suit

Buying unstitched fabric online is easy when you know what to look for. Run through this checklist before you place an order.

Which pieces are included?

Some listings include a shirt, trouser and dupatta. Others include only one or two pieces. Read the description carefully so there are no surprises.

How much fabric is there?

Check the length of each piece. Longer and wider outfits need more fabric, so compare the lengths with what your tailor needs.

What is the fabric?

The name and composition of the fabric tell you how it will feel, how warm it will be and how to wash it.

Do the colours match the photos?

Screens show colour a little differently. Look at several photos, including natural-light shots, and read the colour names in the description.

How is the print placed?

For panelled or bordered designs, check how the print is laid out so your tailor can plan the cut.

Is the price clear?

Prices should be shown in PKR together with delivery charges at checkout. If a sale price is shown, the original price should be visible too.

What will the delivery experience be?

Before you give it to the tailor

Wash a small offcut first to check for shrinkage and colour running. Then ask your tailor to keep any leftover fabric for matching repairs or a bag.
